Christmas Selah

The world Selah is found 71 times in the Psalms, the Hebrew book of worship, most likely indicating a pause for reflection. It offers the worshipper a chance to notice their own place in the history of the words and sense God’s invitation for how they should live.

On December 28, the Sunday after Christmas and all your festive activities have settled, we are pausing our church service in order to invite you to spend a day of Christmas Selah. Just like the Holy Family rested after a monumental journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem, only to find themselves spending their first moments with their child in a manger, come now to rest with them after a monumental journey you’ve taken in 2025.

We have provided a devotional guide for your morning (or whenever you choose to do it) where you will have the opportunity reflect on the Good Story, to walk around your neighborhood and notice Immanuel (God-with-us) who became flesh and dwelt among us, and celebrate our king who brings his kingdom to earth through us. Make plans with some friends to do this together, and perhaps break bread with one another, marveling that our Lord and King would decide to come to the world in such a humble way, making a way for all of us to walk in!

We will resume regular church services in the new year and look forward to seeing you then!
